Located on the small island of Naoshima in the Seto Inland Sea, Benesse House Museum is a contemporary art museum with a hotel.
Designed by architect Tadao Ando based on the concept of “symbiosis of nature, architecture, and art,” the museum is open to the outside, allowing visitors to always feel the nature outside even when inside.
In addition to the works in the museum’s collection, site-specific works created by artists for each location are permanently installed. The artists themselves choose the sites in which they create their works.
The museum was featured in the “seven places in the world you should see next” feature in Condé Nast Traveler, a travel magazine published by Condé Nast, and has been introduced in newspapers and magazines around the world, attracting much attention overseas. For more information, please contact
